FAQ
What is the jewelry made of?
I work mostly with copper alloys, my favorite being the yellow gold-like brass - a composition of copper and zinc. Sometimes I incorporate "white brass" or nickel silver or neusilber - a copper alloy containing nickel.
Most of my earrings have silver earwires if the design forgives it.
Some of my pieces are goldplated.
Can I have allergies to the metal?
Yes, that is always a possibility! While a lot of jewelry is being marketed as hypoallergenic, even popular gold/silver alloys often contain metals like copper or nickel. So please be careful and know your body when choosing jewelry besides titanium/plastic.
How do I care for the jewellry you sell? Will it tarnish?
Keep it dry and clean, wipe with a clean paper napkin and store in a box when not worn, that's it! My brass/nickel silver jewellry is coated with bees wax while heated to protect the surface from things like sweat penetraring pores, but it still requres careful cleaning for best maintenance. It can still dull a lillte bit when not worn and may show some little brownish spots, but the pieces shown here are often already tarnished (inbetween making and taking pictures it's been exposed to the sun), so that's the realistic look of brass jewelry. It's not perfect and it wasn't supposed to be.
Why is your jewelry so much more expensive than ...?
I mostly get this question in comparison with brands that resale aliexpress jewelry as handmade. My work takes sometimes hours, but mostly days, and I still often don't price it fair enough to compensate for my efforts.
